I'm guessing if you have landed here you most likely want to know a bit more about me, what I am all about, my story and how I became passionate about living a Healthy Lifestyle.
My journey started back in 2010 as a Personal Trainer/Gym Owner.
And although I was a qualified trainer I had a very unhealthy relationship with food & my body.
I found myself counting calories, counting macros, trying every diet there was. This mentality started from a time when I had my own Personal Trainer and the aim of the game was to be as lean as possible. This resulted in deprivation, no lifestyle, losing my confidence and not only developing an addition to Sugar Free Drinks but also an Auto Immune Disease " Hashimotos"
It was one of those enough is enough moments when I was prescribed "thyroxine" to correct my auto immune disease however research showed this was only masking the underlying issue.
I went to work and researched as much as I could and happy to have overcome this by changing my nutrition and incorporating wholefood supplements. I am happy to say I was able to say goodbye to Thyroxine and get back to being in alignment. Medication is something I have never been a fan of I always look for natural alternatives first & strongly believe nutrition along with our lifestyle choices play a massive part in healing.
After years of yo-yo dieting and deprivation it wasn't until I started to listen to my body, be in tune with what it really needed, incorporate a whole food supplement to increase my daily nutritional intake and many years of Personal Development I began to realise the relationship I had with food was having a massive impact on my body, my emotions, my relationships & physical health. It was during this time that I said goodbye to the Fitness Industry and transitioned to Health Coaching. I knew my passion was to help others and when you help someone improve their health you help them in all areas of life.
In the Healthy Emporium I want to help you first and foremost develop a healthy relationship with your body, learn to love you for who you are and obviously assist you with developing new habits/choices around nutrition that will ultimately propel you forward to achieving your goals.
In the Healthy Emporium we have a focus on what you CAN eat as opposed to what you CAN'T eat. We work through the program identifying the foods that are most suitable to you, the foods that give you the most energy & vitality, the foods that rob you of energy and most importantly the foods that give you maximum fat loss without deprivation.
I want my clients to be empowered and not have to go through the yo-yo cycle that I did for many years. Years where I said no to social events because my relationship with food meant I couldn't go to functions and have fun. I have now found balance that works for me and my body type which is something I want to share with you all.
When working with clients I focus a lot on habit change as I believe this is where the results come in. I like to look at it like as an "Identity Change" this is where healthy eating becomes the new norm for you, it becomes a part of who you are & a part of your life.
Through my program I aim to educate you on living a healthy, balanced lifestyle bumping yourself up to the top of the priority list. I often find with clients they are so busy working on their career, being a mum, a wife, a husband, a taxi service for the kids that we often forget about the most important person "YOU" I always say you can't pour from an empty cup so my aim is to work with you through the program developing tools to help you in not only your health but all aspects of life.
This won't be a quick fix where you get temporary results it is about habit change that you can incorporate into your family's lifestyle and start to have that positive impact on those around you.
